Kristen Abate was born and raised in the West Village above the Cornelia Street Cafe. As a filmmaker and actress, her photos hope to capture the feeling of a dusty film strip. While rents continue to accelerate these photos attempt to capture buildings, stores, and people who could be pushed out by morning. Channeling an unwavering love of nostalgia and a complex feeling for the construction of the new, Kristen makes a case for what's left and where we're going. New York City is still obtainable, if only in a frame.

She is a recipient of the New York Foundation for the Arts NYC Women's Fund for Media, Music and Theatre
